Not uncommon: Usually with Mirena (levonorgestrel) periods over time become shorter, lighter and may even stop but some women may experience heavy periods with Mirena (levonorgestrel) still in place. If the bleeding does not slow down after the 4th day, contact your GYN for further evaluation and recommendation. Seek immediate help if the bleeding become worse.
