Low or high sugar: Hypoglycemia is the term for blood glucose that is below normal range, and hyperglycemia is term for blood glucose above normal. In healthy people Insulin from pancreas regulates the amount of glucose in the blood by increasing cellular uptake of glucose after we eat. Hypoglycemia is corrected by eating and hyperglycemia requires medication to correct it.
