It is likely related: to your reflux.Reflux/GERD is often associated with a hiatal hernia. This condition results in a part of your stomach being pulled above the diaphragm. The food, fluid, and stomach acid is trapped above the diaphragm, reflexes up into the esophagus and it all sloshes around going back and forth.Patients also swallow air trying to force this witches brew back down into the lower stomach and beyond.burp.
