No need to be scared: Having a dry mouth is not a reason to be scared. Many things can cause this condition, including dehydration, dry climate, mouth breathing, medications, etc. Since she's under the care of a physician based on her listed meds, why don't you make an appointment for her to be evaluated? In the meantime, make sure she is adequately hydrated.

Dry mouth: dry mouth is very common in older people who are taking medications. Don't be worried about this unless you have noticed other changes, then talk to her doctor. Proper hydration is important. Biotene products will help. Chewing xylotol or sugar free gum or mints help. Avoid mouthwash with alcohol.

See your PCP: There are many causes of dry mouth including: mouth breathing, certain medications, lifestyle (smoking) and systemic illnesses (diabetes). Some causes are easily correctable, others are more difficult to treat. See your PCP for evaluation tests and treatment options.
