What is the treatment for dental plaque?

Dental plaque: Treatment for dental plaque will reduce the risk for dental caries (cavities) and gingivitis. Regular brushing and flossing reduces that chance that plaque will damage the tooth enamel. Professional dental cleaning removes plaque and tartar that cannot be removed by brushing and flossing. Professional cleaning, performed once or twice a year, can prevent the build-up of plaque.

Brushing: Oral home care is the most important part of keeping your mouth free from plaque. It does form 24 hours a day, and if your dentist sees that you are not doing a good job of brushing, make sure he or she shows you how to brush, floss properly.

Brushing teeth: You can't really get rid of dental plaque totally because bacteria is always in your mouth. But you can try to keep things as clean as possible throughout the day to minimize plaque buildup. Brushing and flossing after every time you eat is the best treatment. There is a brand new toothpaste out called Livionex that claims to keep your teeth virtually plaque free all day. I suggest trying that.
