External hemorrhoid: Yes, the hemorrhoid should get smaller and possibly disapper . Hasten the process by taking 2-3 sitz baths a day and appling anti hemorrhoidal ointment after the bath

It may or may not: If the external hemorrhoid is causing pain or bleeding you should be evaluated by primary care and referred if needed to general or colon-rectal surgeon. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!
