Secondary infection?: You may have developed "cellulitis," a secondary bacterial skin infection due to introducing germs to the site from the bite itself, or from scratching the hive (which should have resolved). Take a pen and draw an outline around the whole red area & monitor the swelling. Should be shrinking. Worth an ASAP visit to the doc who may prescribe an antibiotic pill and diphenhydramine or Atarax (hydroxyzine) for itch.
