Medical appointment: severe swelling in response to a bee sting is likely an allergic response. Tylenol, (acetaminophen) aspirin or motrin for pain or benadryl for swelling. Make a paste of 2 parts baking soda & 1 part water & apply.

Ice: Ice, Benadryl, (diphenhydramine) wrap, elevate. If no better check with a doctor for possible steroids, antibiotics if indicated. Good luck

Secondary infection?: You may have developed "cellulitis," a secondary bacterial skin infection due to introducing germs to the site from the bite itself, or from scratching the hive (which should have resolved). Take a pen and draw an outline around the whole red area & monitor the swelling. Should be shrinking. Worth an ASAP visit to the doc who may prescribe an antibiotic pill and diphenhydramine or Atarax (hydroxyzine) for itch.
