Vaccine: No IPV gives immunity against Polio so there is no need to give the oral Polio vaccine also

Same coverage: OPV is commonly used in many parts of the world because of ease of use (no shot, minimally trained personnel). It is not better than the IPV as far as protection, just different. They quit giving OPV in the US because of rare cases of OPV associated paralytic polio (about 1/million doses.)
