What is the treatment for broken back?

Depends: It really depends on where the fracture or fractures are in the spine and whether the fracture causes the spine to become unstable. There are3 columns in the spine and if 2 are intact and one is broken, thespine is usually stable. If more than one column is broken, the spine is unstable and will need surgery. Also, sometimes a fracture will push bone fragments into the spinalcord. Surgery here.

Depend: On the level or site of the fracture, the bony part of the vertebrae that is fractured; if there is bony protrusion into the spinal canal with associated spinal cord or nerve root injury. Options are support & observation, surgical decompression & fusion with or without hardware.
