Weigh the risks: With any surgery there are risks and benefits of performing the surgery. With reconstructing the vaginal area your daughter could have infection, scarring, loss of sensation, etc. Visit with a Gynecologist and Plastic Surgeon to determine if surgery is the way to go. Many procedures performed by Plastic Surgery are not covered, check with your insurance first.

Discuss with gyne: Discuss with gyne/primary care physician. I've performed this on young females who, report constant irritation from physical activities after consulting with their gynecologists and pediatricians who were in agreement. One was a cheerleading "flyer" and experienced repeated inflammation despite different garment wear and precautions. A letter sent to your carrier is needed for coverage benefits

Yes/maybe: In the right hands this is a simple procedure that can return a self conscious teen to a less worrisome existence.Whether or not it would be a covered procedure depends on the individual policy. Some specifically exclude certain forms of surgery, some don't.When you have your consultation the office staff for the docs involved can find out before you commit to the procedure.
