Heart rate on meds: Medications such as atenolol are usually recommended to keep heart rate and blood pressure lower than they would have been otherwise during the workouts. It looks like your weight loss allowed you to get off meds-FANTASTIC! Your heart needs to quickly pick up its rate when sprinting-having atenolol may interfere with that and leave you feeling winded.
