Crushed tip of finger,tip swollen,nail and underneath black,not much movement, but nail not damaged,tissue not broken.should i splint it myself?

Yes: You can do that for a few days - ice it, keep it elevated, take ibuprofen. If blood collects under the nail you may need to see the doctor to have it drained. if there is pain past just the finger tip then I would see a doctor for an x-ray.
