The psychiatrist who: prescribes your psychotropic medications is the person to ask. In the US, you'd need medical clearance for either type of admission, as whatever illicit drugs you use may interact with your prescribed medications in a way that can cause you physical harm. Good on you for being ready to take care of yourself ! Evaluations by your GP & psychiatrist will determine appropriate in-patient treatment.

Likely: If this is truly for mainly drug addiction, you'd unlikely be admitted to an inpatient hospital psychiatric unit, as these are more so focused on addressing acute psychiatric illnesses like life threatening depression or destabilized bipolar disease. If you have an associated psychiatric illness, you may seek out dual diagnosis programs, in addition to inpatient vs intensive day addiction program
