A member asked:

What are the tests for iron poor blood?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Iron level tests: A common screening test for low iron is the hemoglobin level, since iron is necessary for it to be produced. If high or normal iron is likely normal. If low, more specific tests include a serum iron study, iron binding capacity & serum ferritin (a carrier protein).
