Menstruation: There are many variations that may be considered normal menstrual periods. If this is your period, and your typical periods have been very different, then this is not normal for you. If there has been much more bleeding than usual, you should see your gynecologist to try to figure out why and possibly treat the problem.

It can be: There is quite a range of "normal" periods - from light to heavy, thin blood to clots, light pink to dark red. All can be normal. If this is the right time for your period then this is likely "it" for the month even though it's not your usual.
