It is ok...: ...To use Mylanta up to 12 teaspoons per day for heartburn . It contains 400 mg of magnesium hydroxide per dose. That is not the amount of elemental magnesium which it contains. It is not suitable for use as a magnesium supplement. In fact, if you try taking large amounts, it would likely cause you to have diarrhea. If you have further questions, contact your doctor.
