It's possible but: the numbness should go away after you are out of that sleep position..if the numbness continues see a doctor

I have numbness by the side of my left foot, almost to the ankle. Irritating, sometimes i don't sleep due to changing position of the leg.
The top of my foot, shin and sometimes thigh goes numb when I lay on my back while sleeping. Mattress is neither hard nor soft. Sometimes it's the left, sometimes the right leg. Numbness goes away when I move my leg. What could be the cause of this?

There was numbness, like when a foot falls asleep, but painless, in the right side of my brain. It then went to a small part of my arm; i was just sitting there. 10-15 sec later, it ended as I lightly tapped on my brain.It hasnt occurred for 2 days.
Pain behind right knee? Sometime in butt down to calf? Numbness in back of ankle. No back pain! hips hurt when sleep on 1 side to long.
