Depends: Proteinuria is a manifestation of some other disorder, e.g., diabetes, hypertension, infection, or hereditary lesions of the glomerulus. The treatment needs to be geared to the cause. Proteinuria in some ways is like fever, you treat it you need to treat the cause.
