See below...: Subchorionic bleeding usually goes away with time but occasionally can get bigger and result in a miscarriage. Constipation probably won't make it worse but if you are constipated, stool softeners such as "Colace," or "Docusate Sodium," available over the counter, are safe in pregnancy. Best wishes!

Ultrasound findings: At 11 weeks of pregnancy, if is unlikely for this finding to become dangerous to the survival of the pregnancy. It may have been present for some time prior to the ultrasound. Constipation will not make it worse. Have your provider obtain another ultrasound in a couple weeks for reassurance.

It depends: If a subchorionic bleed is an accidental finding on an ultrasound exam, the prognosis is better than when there is active bleeding. But even then, bleeding in early pregnancy is quite frequent and many times resolves. Intuitively one would think that constipation makes the situation worse, and wile a connection with uterine bleeding it is difficult to prove, taking a stool softener is a good idea.
