Anal sex: I think you'll have to explore the PROS on your own. As far as the CONS the biggest would be an increase in the incidence of transmission of certain sexually transmitted diseases especially syphilis, gonorrhea, HIV, HPV, HBV, HCV, and others. Of course as with vaginal sex, wearing a condom would be helpful to prevent disease transmission.

Use protection: STD's, especially HIV, can be transmitted through anal sex, so condoms are a must to protect yourself. The anal tissues are easily injured, and anal intercourse can cause bleeding as well as transmission of infectious agents.

Be aware of HPV: Anal warts (Anal Condyloma) are caused by a virus called HPV (Human Papillomavirus) which is usually transmitted by sexual contact. Although wearing condom decreases the risk of transfer of HPV, it does NOT completely protect against HPV. Please check the CDC website: http://www.cdc.gov/hpv/prevention.html.
