Bad breath is common: Bad breath, or halitosis, is a common complaint. There are many possible causes. An upper endoscopy, like you had, is probably one of the best ways to evaluate. The most common causes are esophageal reflux and gingivitis but a rare condition called Zenker's diverticulum is also a possibility. Since the endoscopy was negative you might try an oral rinse containing hydrogen peroxide. Good luck!

Simple solution: In the majority of cases, the cause of bad breath, or halitosis, is the product of bacteria in the mouth. The proper diagnosis is the key to a successful treatment. See your dentist for Halimeter test, diagnosis and bad breath treatment that depends on its cause. Good luck.
