Lamictal: needs to be slowly titrated to minimise the risk of Steven's Johnson Syndrome and other life threatening rashes (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis) One typically adds 25 mg every 10 days to 2 weeks so it may take a 2-3 months to get up to a therapeutic level for management of Epilepsy or Mania.
