Cerumen: Ear wax is shedded skin flakes and is normal although in some people it is excessive and may clog the ear canal in which case it has to be removed by aspiration or washing it out with a syringe.

I had a RN friend of mine look at it Sunday morning and everything we could find on line is that it should heal itself, and to not let water get in it.She asked some of the people at the hospital that she works with and they said the same thing.
