If patient means "uncomfortable or painful feeling in the pit of his stomach", a good way is to try over-the-counter acid blockers, such as Prilosec OTC, Prevacid (lansoprazole) 24HR, or Zegerid OTC. Follow package instructions. See a doctor promptly because it could be more serious than just H. pylori, at age 44.
