Depends: It depends on the type of Metamucil you took (regular bs sugar-free) and what you mixed it with (juice va water). And it depends on the blood test that was being collected. If you took regular Metamucil mixed in juice it will affect your blood sugar, but not your blood count, liver tests or electrolytes.

Should be ok: Just let the person drawing the blood know that you were not fasting with only water. Check the label of the Metamucil product you ingested. Most do not have sugar. Good luck.

Well, ..: Fasting is fasting, so it depends on the exact test, but generally speaking, drinking Metamucil fiber will NOT affect most fasting blood tests. Before you waste your time and money, simply ask the ordering Dr. what exactly they are testing for and if it's ok. Best wishes.
