Tonsil stones: There is a lot of info about tonsil stones and tonsillectomy at this link below: http://www.Healthguidehq.Com/know-before-removing-tonsil-stones.Html. You may have an infection of the ducts where you removed the tonsils due to constant irritation. If gargling with saltwater for a few days does not relieve the pain then go see your PCP for evaluation.

Cryptic Tonsils: What you are describing are called cryptic tonsils and there is nothing you need to do for it other than gargle after meals to keep them clean unless you are having infections or chronic pain. If that is the case you may need to get your tonsils removed

Cryptic Tonsils: you get stones or particles in the tonsils because you have what are called cryptic tonsils. They have folds and holes in them that food particles get stuck inYou can gargle deeply or use a water pick to help get the particles out, but ultimately the treatment is to remove the tonsils. This is done if they are constantly or recurrently inflamed or infected, if one has severe bad breath, see ENT.

Tonsilar crypts: The holes you get in the tonsils are unfortunately common and will often capture food that gets stuck in there, turning into "tonsil stones" and causing bad breath and irritation. Salt water gargles or gargling with mouth wash may help, but ultimately, a referral with an ENT surgeon for tonsillectomy may be needed. Best wishes.
