NOT unusual: The PPis as the nexium (esomeprazole) and similar drugs are known do have these side effects. You may want to try others before you give up on all of them. Note the older drugs known as H2 blockers such as zantac and others are still useful in treatment for Barretts . To make sure you know this is a premalignant lesion. See your GI doctor and ask for further advice. The H2's in higher dose do work.
