Humidity is safest: Increasing humidity and water intake is a natural start, since children under 2 years are not candidates for cough and cold medications. Excessive coughing and prolonged chest congestion may be a sign of asthma, pneumonia or bronchitis.

Cough: Her cough may be due to a postnasal drip. Using salt water nose drops will help. Also, use a vaporizer , especially while sleeping. In addition, elevate the child's mattress so she is sleeping on an angle. Pus fluid but avoid milk. If the child runs a fever consult your doctor
