Test for CML: CML can be looked for in several ways: review of a peripheral blood smear, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy with routine cytogenetics looking for the 9;22 translocation, fish analysis of the 9;22 translocation, and PCR testing for the bcr;abl mutation.
