It depends on: what they do. A diagnostic lap in itself just means putting a camera to look inside the abdominal cavity. If that is all they do, then you should have a very short recovery time. Usually no heavy lifting is recommend for 2 weeks (nothing > 15-20lbs). Often more is done than just looking, and the length of recovery depends on what else is done (bowel resection, lysis of adhesions, etc). Good luck!
