Referred pain: The nerves that supply sensation to the ear canal also supply sensation to the pharynx (throat). Local trauma/scuffing and infection may cause pain in the ear canal or throat. Conversely you may have another process such as allergy, sinus post nasal drainage, virus or bacterial infection in your throat causing a discrete, separate symptom. See your physician with persistent pain.
