A member asked:

My 9 y/o has had a pimple on his nose for 3 days. how can i tell if it is a pimple or skin infection like mrsa?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pimple: A staph infection (MRSA) will cause increased redness spreading from the initial lesion, swelling, and a possible abscess under the skin (a pus pocket). If it is small and not spreading, the chance of a MRSA infection is much less.
