AFP not on CMP: Hi. No, alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) is not on a comprehencive metabolic panel (CMP). AFP can be run on same tube if sample size is adequate, but it is a completely separate test. AFP elevation is NOT specific for liver cancer, and can be seen in other liver diseases and other cancers. Good luck!
