Doctor has on ct scan form "chest lump and thyroid", both are on right side. testing for hypothyroidism and if scan clear, readjust rib...to expect?

I'm confused: Hi. It sounds like your doc thinks you have a thyroid nodule? Yes, no, maybe? Unclear. And I don't get "readjust rib" thing either. Testing for hypothyroidism is a simple blood test, and answers a different question than any anatomical findings from a CT scan. Thyroid ultrasound is the preferred imaging for thyroid nodules.
