Depends: It depends on the reason for the spotting. If the cause is just hormonal the pills should fix it but it can take up to 3 months to work and you will have some breakthrough bleeding or spotting if you don't take them at the same time every day. Sometimes the first pill chosen isn't the right pill for you but no one knows that until after the 3rd pack taken correctly. Hope this helps
