Not normal: Well, it should not feel like you have fluid in your lungs, but because you may be "out of shape" and just started exercising, you may be getting short of breath from the physical strain you are putting on a body that has not been used to it. See the Dr. for a good exam and get a monitored program to do that will help you improve your health. HR may go up with short bouts of exercise.

Vague: At your age, it is hard to say what symptoms you have and how serious they may be. I would see a Dr. and explain your concerns and they will hopefully provide you answers. You may need some tests or chest x-rays.

Need more info: If you get breathless or experience shortness of breath after exercise, you may have exercise-induced asthma. You can get yourself checked by your PCP for a prescription of Albuterol inhaler that you should use 15 minutes before exercise. Please call back with additional info as needed.

Sinus secretion: The intensity of the exercise is releasing sinus fluid and it feels like a fluid in the lungs. If there is some coughing, minor watery clear mucous, and it goes away after an hour or so it is normal. If there were shortness of breath that continued through out the day then it would indicate a problem with CVD. Take care.

Deconditioning: If overweight and not physical activity, tachycardia and shortness of breath can occur with exercise Need a physician evaluation to rule cardiac problems. An approach will be healthy living and regular exercise starting with walking as tolerated and gradually increase intensity.
