Good Question: Peroneal tendon subluxation means a sheath (called a retinaculum) has been torn allow the tendons to snap over the outer ankle.Physical therapy (PT), alone, isn't likely to correct the problem.Surgery or prolotherapy may help.PT usually comes later to ensure proper motion of the tendon, strengthening of muscles, mobility, & prevention of scarring.Osteopathic manipulation likely to also be helpful.
