Could happen...: Flagyl can cause abdominal side effects. If symptoms are severe stop the antibiotic and let your doctor know. If symptoms are manageable( able to be tolerated) take it for couple of more days and see how you do. If well you may finish it as prescribed.One important recommendation is to take probiotics which replace your "good bacteria" in your bowels while taking an antibiotic.

GI side effect: One of the most common side effects of Flagyl is nausea, diarrhea, and stomach discomfort These are side effects and not allergic manifestations. If this continues, speak with your provider about them for further instructions.
