A member asked:

Why don't doctors test for heart attack risks in women more often?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

They should and do: Premenopausal women are protected from heart attack unless they smoke, have diabetes, or use cocaine. Symptoms in this group are virtually always due to another cause. Post menopausal women, smokers, & diabetics have risks similar to men and should be screened similarly.
