Based on lab levels: There is more than one reason for you to be hypothyroid and the level of hypothyroidism determines dose. This is also affected by the length of time you have hypothyroidism. Starting doses can be from 25 µg up to 75 µg based off of your lab levels. They are then adjusted based on your symptoms and repeat testing after 6 to 8 weeks

Depends: Since you were just diagnosed, you should work closely with your doctor to find the proper dose of levothyroxine. The dose is based on the level of your thyroid function tests. And it is calculated based on your weight. So the range of the dosage is listed as from 50 mcg to 200mcg a day. So you see that it is not possible to answer your question as precisely as you may wish. Please ask your doctor
