When is best time in cycle to check mirena (levonorgestrel) strings? can't reach my cervix on most days which is where my strings are, which is sometimes worrisome.

No really best time: Whenever it is most convenient for you is the best time. Since you may, and in fact seem to, notice that your cervix is lower on some days, that is certainly an easier time to do it. Checking daily is really not necessary.
