Spasmodic dysphonia: Voice sounds strained, strangulated, Depends on severity of SD. Can be understood however will lack fluency. Usually treated with Botox injections into vocal cord. some patients opt for recurrent laryngeal nerve section. Voice therapy does not help much, must use constant high pitch. If it you, there are support group in nearly every community. Can also contact the National SD Society.
