A member asked:

What vaccines does a newborn need?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: I routinely give the first dose of hepatitis B vaccine within 12 hours of birth, and if mom was a known positive (hepB) they would get Hep B globulin. Infants will usually not get another vaccine before 6-8 weeks. (Timing is based on when the new immune system of baby can first benefit from a vaccine)
