Angina: Firstly, assessment for emergency therapy is needed, by evaluating for signs of a heart attack (myocardial infarction). This is done with an EKG, blood tests, focused questioning and physical exam. Often pain relief with morphine and nitroglycerin is given, as well as an aspirin and oxygen. Monitoring in the hospital is also common. Call 911 if you suspect a heart attack. Discuss with doctor.
