What could cause long term swollen lymph nodes?

Possible tumor: Lymph nodes enlarge due to presence of infection, primary neoplasms of nodes or metastatic disease to nodes. With an inflammatory process, over time the nodes will regress especially if inf. treated. If nodes persist, feel firm, have enlarged somewhat, then bx indicated to rule out source of problem
