Phimosis causes: Foreskin is normally tight or phimotic at birth, it then loosens over first few years of life. Sometimes it remains tight just because if fails to loosen. Can develop tightness in later life following inflammation & scarring due to infection under foreskin or because normal tight foreskin of childhood was forcibly retracted causing splits of foreskin. Traumatic sex or masturbation are other causes
