A member asked:

What are the side effects of lobelia inflata and xanax (alprazolam)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not sure of ?: are you asking are there interactions between the 2, or just what the SE's are of each. Lobelia is not meant to be taken orally, and can cause serious side effects, including convulsions and death. Lobeline, the main ingredient of lobelia, was touted as a smoking cessation aid, but was removed in 1993 by the FDA for lack of efficacy/safety data. Xanax (alprazolam) causes sedation, incoordination and dependency
