Outcomes may vary: The outcome varies a lot. Some people have permanent paralysis with increased muscle tone and increased relfexes. Most people have subtle weakness and increased reflexes, and some people have no weakness. A good way to predict how the long term outcome will be depends on how much function there is at 1 week, 3 weeks, 3 months, and 12 months after the stroke.
