Medullary: nephrocalcinosis refers to deposition of calcium salts in the medulla of the kidney. They are like tiny stones. There are many causes, including medullary sponge kidney, hyperparathyroidism, hypervitaminosis D, milk alkali syndrome, renal tubular acidosis, Cushings, hyperuricemia, and more. So you need to discuss the results with your doctor to determine what it might mean in your case.
