A member asked:

Should i see a gastroenterologist if my fecalysis test showed i have pus cell 1-2, rbc 0-1, yeast cell few?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The fecal test is normally performed to examine for trace blood to detect presence of a neoplasm. The stool itself is composed of shed colonocytes, bacterial , food particles and bile pigment. The bacteria comprise the microbiome of the intestine and if not perfect may contain an occassioanl yeast and WBC cell. Trace blood can always be found at a microscopic level. No GI work up needed.
